The Valuation List is a key documents within the administration of Council Tax. Its maintenance is covered directly by legislation namely Local Government Finance Act 1992 and is the responsibility of the Listing Officer.
It has been decided that revaluations of the Council Tax list will be suspended in England until further notice - from information received it is likely that a revalaution will not be undertaken until 2014 at the earliest
Within Wales the revaluation occured on 1st April 2005 with an antecedent date of April 2003. Revaluation cycles will be every 8 years.
Powers have been reserved within the bill which will allow additional valuation bands to be available within both England & Wales. (England currently 8 bands & Wales 9 bands)
