Persons for whom Child Benefit is payable

All persons in respect of whom child benefit is payable are disregarded for Council Tax discount purposes.

The majority of persons covered by this are under 19 and normally attending a qualifying course of education.

Evidence is required and this should be either the Child Benefit book or a letter from the DWP Child Benefit department.

Care should be taken to note the currency of Child Benefit entitlement and the end date of such entitlement.
